Back from Japan...
I'm back from my trip to Japan! Went to Wakayama, it's a country side area off Osaka. I met Lee Hsian Loong at the airport haha, I guess that's the closest I'll ever get to seeing him up close without a bodyguard...
The main attraction of this trip was the Japanese Onsen. It's a bath filled with water from the geothermal hot springs. Apparently, it has some sort of healing properties. At the first Onsen everyone was so skeptical about having to go inside naked, haha, yeah I guess we come from a very conservative country, but since the overly polite Japanese women were doing it... why not... haha!Tours are very tiring, they move from one onsen hotel to another every day. However I met a few very interesting people. Met the director of the NUS dental school, a vet, an onsen crazy interior designer, an investor with the bank of New York, a Singaporean guy that studied in Tokyo university who speaks fluent Japanese, a 5 year old boy who wants to grow up to be a dog, and a 11 year old boy the size of a 6 year old who has the endless power to annoy, and a tour guide from Hong Kong who can't speak English (he goes... "let's all meet here at eleven-o-ten" yaaa right...).
Met dad in Nagoya after the tour ended, spent a day in the city, checked out Takashimaya, the clothes in Japan are soooooooo expensive! But, it's Hello Kitty galore!
All in all, a pretty super-duper fun trip!
Now, Christmas is coming! :) Met JW early this morning to do some last minute Christmas shopping, the shops were packed! Had to head back early, unexpected domestic problems... bah...
Happy Holidays everyone!
